Kaaterskill Associates was founded in 1997 by Principal Engineers Darrin Elsom and Ewald Schwarzenegger in Cairo, New York. Kaaterskill Associates entered a new chapter in 2012 when Ewald stepped down and Christine Valachovic PLS stepped in as Principal Land Surveyor. Our team has established a solid niche in the Land Development and Land Surveying market of the Great Northern Catskills. Additionally, we provide Structural Engineering support for custom homes in the Hudson Valley area.

Our team has decades of experience in the area and a proven track record of guiding projects to successful completion. We specialize in navigating regulations, so we can help our clients realize their goals while complying with the latest regulations and agency oversight.

We take pride in our Civil Land Development group and our Land Surveying group, who work together on projects to provide an all-in-house experience for our clients. Our expertise in Land Development in the New York City Watershed has allowed us to develop specific Stormwater Pollution Plans that conform to the New York City Department of Environmental Protection regulations. Our survey group can handle a wide range of projects, from small house lots to very large boundary surveys.
